Dealing with Trauma in Our Society: A Case for The Afrikan Boy Child

John Wills Njoroge, our guest in this episode tells us that the male-female percentages of young people in prison in Kenya is about 85% to 15%. Obviously that there are young people locked up in the country is already a tragedy and a crisis… when you factor in the gender aspect you surely have to ask yourself – What is going on? Why is it this way? Is it that in our quest to save the girl child the boy child was neglected, creating imbalances in society that are triggering even more problems than we had anticipated? Could it be that we are trying to solve the wrong problem in the wrong way? What about societal trauma and its growing effect on the nature and culture of our communities in Afrika?
